v1.0
Hello, Scuba. It’s nice to meet you.

The Flashback alpha, a prototype for the company’s closest friends and family, passed away peacefully on September 25th, 2026 in NYC. It was just 8 months old. It learned to capture from Chrome, from Slack, from your phone’s share sheet, from voice dumps, and from a keyboard shortcut it was very proud of. Friends say it had a sweet name that pointed the wrong way: backward, when the whole point was helping teams move forward.
Its successor is named for gear that helps people explore further and deeper than they could alone, almost always as a team. The Scuba beta arrives today on Mac, iPhone, Windows, and the web. In lieu of flowers, the team asks that you close a dozen tabs in Flashback’s honor.
A redesigned Mac app
Every screen has been repainted in Scuba’s new colors, type, and icons. The words Scuba writes with AI appear in a serif, and everything you write stays in the sans, so you can tell at a glance whose thinking you’re reading. Nothing important moved, so your muscle memory still works. Search is better, faster, and more comprehensive.
A redesigned iPhone app
Start a session from any screen, or pick up where you left off on desktop. Search was rebuilt from the ground up, so it’s instant across your Captures, Collections, and sessions. On the train home, open your launch Collection and ask what changed since Monday.
Scuba on the web (hello, Windows!)
Our top request was simple: make it work on Windows. Scuba now runs in any browser as a full product. Capture from anywhere, get briefings, browse Collections, start sessions, and search. We also rewrote the browser extension so it captures reliably without the app running.
A brand-new onboarding
New teammates get going in a few minutes on Mac or Windows, in Chrome, Safari, or Edge. They save a few recent pages worth keeping, confirm a profile we’ve pre-filled, and land in a first briefing built from what they just captured.
